Dr. Azlinawati Nik Mat completed her postgraduate study at the University of Melbourne, Australia, where she received a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (Clinical Psychology). She is currently working as a Senior Lecturer and consultant clinical psychologist at Faculty of Medicine, Univerisiti Teknologi MARA. At the same time, she is also actively involved in supervising clinical psychology students from local universities.

Her research interest involves quality of life, psychological wellbeing, cognitive impairment and aged care. Following on from her PHD, Dr. Azlina has involved in few studies involving depression and loneliness in older adults, quality of life of people with cognitive impairment living in nursing home and community and needs of people with cognitive impairments. She is currently working on few research projects in collaboration with other faculties and local universities in Malaysia. Her work is also recognized internationally as she has been appointed as an Editorial Board Member for Journal of Palliative Care and Nursing and Reviewer Board Member for Journal of Aging and Age Related Diseases.
